We are replacing an in-ground flagpole and need to know the diameter of the pole of this product to ensure it fits into the current hole that we have.

The pole itself is a 2‑inch (≈5 cm) diameter aluminum tube. It comes with a PVC sleeve that has an inner diameter of 2 inches, so you’ll need a hole slightly larger than that to accommodate the sleeve and allow for easy installation.

Does black paint chip from pole over time

The black finish is a high‑grade powder coating that’s built to stay smooth. In normal residential or commercial use it won’t chip, and only prolonged exposure to harsh weather might cause very slight wear after many years.

Do you cemente the PVC sleeve in the ground?

Yes – we recommend pouring a small concrete footing around the PVC sleeve before you set it in the ground. It gives the pole solid stability, especially in windy areas.

Can the pole be shortened?

What is the gauge of the pole and could it accommodate a length of galvanized fence pole for added stability. We get very strong winds and have had several pole just break.

Will base pole fit in 2 in pvc base already on ground?
